We have to get the point across that we are still open for business. Devil's Slide affects locals more than visitors. (Highway) 92 is still open, and you can access Half Moon Bay regularly. Unless you're coming to Half Moon Bay during the commute, there should be no problem.

One of the problems is finding a doctor to work for a non-profit and to come work in such an expensive area. We've lost some doctors because of how expensive it is here.

Our merchants need the business now more than ever.

People think we're not here any more, but that's just not true. There are lots of ways to get in here, and traffic is very light on weekends. If people don't come back it's really going to hurt the little mom-and-pop businesses.

We're upping our marketing campaign and introducing the medical center to people new to the coast. We need to look for more of those patients.

We may not make it. They could wake up one morning and find that the facility is closed. We owe it to them to tell them that everything isn't hunky dory.
