They hit the ball very well even though we played good defense. They got too many hits. I think we [also] hit the ball pretty well.

He pitched solid. [Like Newhouse] he used the defense. He gave up four hits. That's good enough.

Our pitchers just need to pitch and let the other team hit the ball, and more than likely we'll get them out.

He's putting the ball over the plate, hitting his spots and trusting the defense.

If a ball is hit in the air, you almost expect it to be caught. [And on tough balls] we're still expecting them to be caught [as well].

He just had good control. That was the key. He didn't put people on base and allowed the defense to do what they were supposed to do.

Too bad we didn't win. It would have been a lot of commotion and would have ended their win streak.
