It looks like the suspect was upset that his wife had left him on Sunday. He knew she was having an affair with the victim. Within the next two days he had flown to Miami and rented a car.
They have not gotten any information from him yet.
For unknown reasons he apparently pulled off to the side of the road and turned on the hazard lights.
He will be in the hospital over the weekend. It will probably be early next week before he is brought to the jail. He is on intravenous painkillers and we can't have that in our infirmary.
He said he would get on the computer when he got home from work so we knew he would be on. When (police) went to his door, he was on the computer in the middle of a conversation with the girl.
When they arrived he fired several shots at them, and he did strike one of those officers in the leg. They did return fire, but at this point it's unknown whether he was struck or not.
There's so much going on in the world that is so sad. You can go anywhere and find depressing news. I'm glad somebody has stepped up and shown there are still good people in the world.
They keep interfering and harassing him about it.
