The winter is a very tough and grueling time of the year. It's cold, rainy, and down right miserable a lot of the mornings out on the water. The team has showed a lot of character in the past month by working hard and staying disciplined in the tough conditions.

Last year we tied for fourth place with Saint Mary's. This year we are hoping our depth can propel us ahead of the Gaels in the overall standings. It would be a huge team accomplishment and big victory for the program.

The competition is going to be tough for those spots and it will be interesting to see who rises up to the challenge. Right now all the seats are up for grabs.

Everyone is starting to mesh together and row as one.

This is a crew that from stroke one today believed they could do it and they went out and took care of business. It was a big day for Santa Clara and our whole team should be proud to be a Bronco.

Rowing is a power and finesse sport. These girls have really been putting the hammer down on rowing machines. I'm looking for them to not only push their teammates but also be one of the main driving forces in the boat.

Sunday was a test of toughness. In addition to the cold and rain, the wind chill created near freezing temperatures. In those conditions you are just glad that the entire crew returns to the dock in one piece.
