This pipes-and-drums platoon is 35 strong, and we are touring about 70 cities in three months.

The finale combines both groups and is quite powerful and really emotional. Our concerts are a visual sight that connects with everybody and is very family-oriented.

Bagpipes are definitely for people with Scottish or British ancestries who can connect with a part of their history.

The Black Watch is a traditional band. It is what we are known for, and we don't try to veer off that path. If there is anything new, it is in the traditional style. We tend to avoid doing stuff that is good for one year, then not for decades to come.

I think they were quite shocked. It was something they hadn't seen before. But it was giving something back on a more human level. Interacting with locals and making a connection. I think they liked it.
