FameRank: 6

"Candace Nicole Parker" is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA and UMMC Ekaterinburg of Russia. She is the younger sister of former NBA player Anthony Parker. She attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville/University of Tennessee in 2004 and was drafted by the Los Angeles Sparks in 2008. She may be best known for being the first woman to slam dunk/dunk in an NCAA Women's Division I Basketball Championship/NCAA tournament game and the first woman to dunk twice in a college game—she set both milestones as a redshirt freshman on March 19, 2006. She also became only the second player to dunk in a WNBA game on June 22, 2008.

A versatile player, she is mainly a forward, but was listed on Tennessee's roster as a forward, center, and guard. She was a starter on the Tennessee Lady Volunteers basketball/Lady Vols basketball team, winners of the 2007 and 2008 NCAA championships.

Parker won the 2009 Teen Choice Awards as the favorite female athlete in the sports category, and was a guest star on Figure It Out.

It was just 1-on-1 with me and her, and I knew I had the height advantage over her, so I just took it and shot over her. Fortunately it went in.

She anchors our defense and our offense. She runs the show. We've held it down while she's gone, but that would be a huge boost.

I've only dunked in one game. I don't want that to be my identity. I want to be known for an all-around game.

Coach told me to dribble some time off, then we went into our isolation play. I knew they would not double down because of our outside shooters. I was taller so I just shot the ball over her.

She hit some big shots. It seems like she's confident in her shot now.

I really wasn't thinking about it. I was thinking attack. I took off too far. I just missed a dunk.

It's a relief to finally do it and get it over with.

We were having fun just playing, moving the ball, running in transition, and that's when we were at our best.

I just went up and did it. I didn't really think about it.
