Cole had a really good race. Our top three ran about as good as we can expect. It was a little bit of shock at first with the pace. The first mile was quicker than they're used to.

Our effort was pretty good in humid conditions, which makes the legs a little dead. So our times weren't necessarily where we wanted them to be at, but at the same time, we competed and finished hard.

No matter how strong and how valid the assurances that China or any other country gives us, once we export uranium it's outside of our control, so we're making the world a dirtier and more dangerous place by exporting uranium.

That's a lot better than we have been. Cole was real impressive. We also have to give credit to Clayton, Josh, Taylor and Aaron. We kept telling them to close the gap between them and the runner ahead and they did a great job.

The main thing was to get some of our less experienced guys more experience.

But China cannot be complacent, ... In the last year its GDP grew nine percent, but energy use increased 15 percent and oil consumption grew almost 20 percent.

The dangerous myth that nuclear energy is a clean alternative.

The science shows we need to reduce carbon emissions by 60 percent by 2050. This is a global challenge, ... China has to take it seriously, but so do Australia and the USA, both of which are still acting unacceptably and promoting needless greenhouse pollution.

Reducing waste is by far the cheapest way to reduce greenhouse pollution [by coal-fired electricity]. Did you know that more than 10 per cent of household electricity in this country is used keeping appliances like TVs and video players on standby?

Fifth was the best we could do without Taylor and Aaron. It was hard for us to recover from that.

Oil and gas are limited resources, ... Wasteful use of these fuels and the burning of coal are the main causes of global warming.
