It's harder to qualify for state than it is to the YMCA Nationals. That tells you how good the competition is in Ohio.

All in all, I think we had a good day. I'd say 65 percent of the girls were close to their lifetime-bests and the number of guys was close to that as well.

All of the boys had lifetime-best swims and all three relays were season-bests.

For the girls, 10 of our 13 swims were lifetime-bests and all three relays had season-bests. All in all, it was a very enjoyable meet to watch.

His swim (in the 50 free) was a jaw-dropper. The opportunity (to qualify for state) is there. He just has to do his part. ... He has to keep his time, if not lower it. In the 50, particularly, there's not a lot of room for mistakes, and he knows that.

I don't want to jinx him or put any additional pressure on John or Andy May or anyone else for that matter, but (having a state qualifier) would be a milestone for our program at Hilliard Darby.
