That's one of the biggest perks. Between Joey and Michael and Brad, they've all been around for so long that half the time they're spitting out things to other guys before I can even say anything.

I'm pleased with how we've played so far in the first half. But there's a lot of baseball left to be played.

This was a great high school baseball game. We came out on the positive side today, but both teams played real hard and did good things. It was just an exciting high school baseball game.

That's what makes our team kind of interesting. We have four-year starters. We have guys with a lot of depth in starting and experience. And then we have guys who are in their first year as a starter on varsity.

A few times he fell behind and got into trouble but he showed some character and battled out.

He did a nice job of competing.

Every time it gives you hope, a big old nasty cloud rolls over you and hails on you in April. It dumped 40 gallons on our field, so we switched it over to North and then 20 minutes later it drops 40 gallons over there.

Nobody panicked and everybody just stayed poised and confident and we played the game. With Brad on the hill, the kids are going to feel confident.

It was a blend you need. One always picked up the other. We were the underdog team. These guys had never been to the playoffs.
