Brett Rumford
FameRank: 4

"Brett Michael Rumford" is an Australian professional golfer who plays on the European Tour, having formerly been a member on both the PGA Tour and PGA Tour of Australasia.

Rumford was born and grew up in Perth, Western Australia. He started playing golf at age ten, quickly showing a natural hand–eye co-ordination which translated to a well-respected short game. He represented Australia in amateur golf (teamed with future PGA Tour players Aaron Baddeley and Brendan Jones (golfer)/Brendan Jones along with Kim Felton) and was a member of the elite AIS golf program. He has always been known for his quiet personality and tremendous work ethic, which has helped him bounce back from 'flat' parts of his career.

In 1999, Rumford won the PGA Tour of Australasia's ANZ Players Championship as an amateur, and he turned professional the following year. He has been a member of the PGA European Tour/European Tour since 2001, and has won five European Tour events, the 2003 Saint-Omer Open/Aa St Omer Open, the 2004 Irish Open (golf)/Irish Open, the 2007 Omega European Masters, the 2013 Ballantine's Championship and the 2013 Volvo China Open. His best year-end ranking on the Order of Merit has been 37th in 2004.

I'm just playing real solid. I'm very pleased with finishing with a 69 this morning and then following it up with a good round this afternoon.

I worked very hard back home and it looks as though everything has fallen into place.

I've got a good feel for the weekend. I'm playing some real decent golf at the moment A good score is to be had out there especially with the conditions being pretty calm.

That is all I am concerned with. I am leading a golf tournament and that is all I should be focusing on at the moment. This week and this week only.

I hadn't been playing that badly, just racking up big numbers every now and then and throwing shots away.

I have tried to put the problems of the last few weeks in the past and tried to concentrate on this week.
