It always comes down to doubles. You could have the best player in the world, and odds are you won?t win all four singles matches. You have to have good doubles.

Tennis is a funny game, and this is true of any team in the district. Unless you have the rare luxury of extra players, you play in order of rank. He makes everybody better play one position lower. One person makes everybody on the team stronger.

His level of play has improved as the season has gone along. Obviously he?s very athletic. His level rises after each tournament.

It?s a different kind of tennis here. With seven courts, you can all go out there together and relax. With four courts, there?s more cheering and more pressure.

The kids look at him as a leader in terms of work ethic. He?s the kind of kid who would practice as much as I let him. Perhaps he adds a role model in the sense of what kids ought to strive for.
