"Robert Phillips" ""Bob"" "Corker, Jr." is an United States/American politician and the junior United States Senate/United States Senator from Tennessee, serving since 2007. Corker, a member of the Republican Party (United States)/Republican Party, is currently the chairman of the United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations in the 114th United States Congress/113th congress.

Born in Orangeburg, South Carolina, Corker is a graduate of the University of Tennessee. In 1978 at the age of 25, Corker founded a successful construction company, which he later sold in 1990. He ran for the United States Senate election in Tennessee, 1994/1994 U.S. Senate election in Tennessee, but was defeated by future Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist in the Republican primary. Appointed by Governor of Tennessee/Tennessee Governor Don Sundquist, Corker served as Commissioner of Finance and Administration for the State of Tennessee from 1995 to 1996. He later acquired two of the largest real estate companies in Chattanooga, Tennessee, before being elected the 71st List of mayors of Chattanooga, Tennessee/Mayor of Chattanooga in 2000; serving one term as Mayor from 2001 to 2005.

I hope that very soon the Senate and the House will come together for a bill that reflects the values of this country, but if not, that's something I want to work hard on.

All of us can go through the process of understanding whether there actually are security risks or not. I think we should err on the side of being cautious as it relates to our national security. I certainly want to hear the facts and make a determination as we see all there is to see.

I think today we've got the most complex issues facing America that we have dealt with in decades.
