Of all the road trips we make in (the California Coast Athletic Association), this one probably is the toughest, not only because it's our longest trip (in mileage), but also because both teams are very competitive.

They have the deepest team in the league. They are very quick, very forceful. We will have to play well defensively to have a shot.

Jeff gets good athletes and they play hard. He's a great competitor and tries to get it done the right way.

Jay's just that kind of player.

We were in a hole early. We just couldn't let Williams shoot anymore. I was really pleased with the way we played defensively in the second half.

They're not an easy team to match up with because they usually play with four guards and a power forward. You've got to get all of your guys covering the perimeter against them, and they shoot the ball very well.

The airport closed at midnight. So we were forced out and found some accommodation in a hotel ballroom. It wasn't the worst thing that could happen, and the kids were happy to be celebrating there instead of inside some airport.

We're in a much-improved spot from a year ago. At this point last season, we were 0-4.

You really like to win the home games. Split on the road, win at home. That's how you win championships.
