Probably our greatest need is for returning students.
Ideally our goal is to increase the number of scholarships offered while also increasing the dollar amount of the awards.
What better message to send the community we serve and to the students that we believe and value what we are doing.
People give to every campus fund. We have several funds: beautification, scholarship, and general funds.
We have discussed building a second phase [of apartments], but there are currently no definitive plans in place.
The project is on schedule if not slightly ahead.
When [the campaign] is completed, we feel [SMSU] will become a university of choice.
The kick-off event is just a single component of the fund drive. [The drive] will last until around Feb. 14. Faculty and staff can participate, and the majority contribute through payroll deduction.
Plans currently are to offer rent on a semester basis similar to the way residential life collects room charges.
