"Benjamin José "Bengie" Molina" (born July 20, 1974), nicknamed ""Big Money"", is a former Major League Baseball catcher and a former first base coach and catching instructor for the Texas Rangers (baseball)/Texas Rangers. He is the older brother of major league catchers José Molina (baseball)/José Molina and Yadier Molina.

Initially regarded as a "good glove, no hit" catcher with a strong arm and an exceptional ball blocker, Molina won a Rawlings Gold Glove Award/Gold Glove as the top defensive player at his position in consecutive seasons in and . But he also developed into a very good contact hitter and free-swinging power hitter. Between 2000 and 2007, he struck out just 331 times, and in 2000 led the American League in average at-bats between strikeouts, with 14.3. He is the only player in history to hit a home run and not get credit for the run.

However, at 5' 11" and weighing 225 pounds, he was regarded as one of the slowest baserunners of his day.

It was going to be more years, more dollars if it was going to be a free-agent signing.

The only thing we can do is probably pray a lot. Hopefully he makes a lot of pitches up the middle of the plate and he's not on his game that day.

I took a lot less money to come over here for a reason, and that's to win.

The way they let me go without a notice, without calling me, that said a lot.

It's very tough for me to adjust to new pitchers I haven't caught before. You just got to go and keep battling with them and be ready when they're out there and try to learn all the tendencies they like to do.

They both have great bullpens. This team has speed. They like to go from first to third and will hit and run any time.

We're supposed to be tired, but when we got here we didn't think about much except playing the game the same way we always do. But I didn't see any indication that they were tired.

That was then. I never said the Angels treated me badly during my career with the organization. I have a lot of respect for my teammates, coaches and manager and, a great affection for the fans of the Los Angeles Angels. I am excited to be a Blue Jay and wish everyone in the Angels organization the best.

We just think about playing our game. If they feel the pressure, let them have it.
