It was really cold and windy. The races were delayed, and we had to clean out ice in the tracks of the boats.

I think they went out with pretty clear expectations for how to execute the race. They did not accomplish their goal. We will be working on committing to winning this week. It's the realization that you don't just want to do something, you have to make it happen.

Interestingly, this is the first home race for our sophomore. We ended up being all away last year. I think it's just going to be extra exciting because we have a young team and these guys will want to perform well at home.

Next week will have three similar crews each with a chance of winning.

The varsity eight has lots of pressure to succeed. The lesson we learned was that we need to relax and have fun. We need to go out with a different attitude.

We knew that Princeton and Dartmouth were going to be very fast. Our race plan was to row within ourselves.
