The next few days could be a productive cooling off period, when senators work out their differences and commit to getting something done on immigration reform, but we will see. We hope that they will come back to Washington committed to reform, because we need it this year.

If anything has changed, it's that Americans are now even more reliant on U.S. farmers and ranchers for their food security, and farmers and ranchers are even more dependent on hired labor.

This provision would open up the legal system to abuse by people who may not pay taxes and would drive up farmers' costs of defending themselves. We're obviously against that.
