It was good to be working under the new coach (Guus Hiddink). He seems to like lean, sharp players so I think I fit the mould. It's down to the coach now but hopefully I can get the opportunity to represent my country again.

Yeah, it would be nice to still be playing in Europe, but it was not to be.

It has been over the top.

The club is great, the fans are fantastic and it is just wonderful to be part of a competition that has taken off. Australian soccer has been waiting a long time for something so good.

A few things conspired against me. The club (Lierse) got a new coach and I got a knee injury that sidelined me for some time. It put me back and by the time I returned, the coach was not interested in me any more. That's how it goes in professional football.

I'm absolutely rapt right now, it's been a great couple of weeks. But I'm working hard at training and believe there is plenty more of that to come.

I guess I get asked more about that game than anything else.
