It's been fun, a lot of fun for three years. We've had some success. Now it's time for me to start focusing on what I've always wanted to do.

I always planned on being a head football coach. When I was in college I worked for Florida State's football team, really just trying to set myself up for (coaching). When I got to Mitchell, I always liked basketball. I decided to help out. I was an assistant for a year. I already had gotten to know the kids and the job fell in my lap.

I know most coaches do it, and I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that whatsoever. But I like having a little bit of time off, and I think most of the parents and most of the kids like having the time off.

It's something I've been thinking about for a while. Really, the entire season it was going through my head.

We didn't change much (defensively) in the second half. You can't expect for teams to shoot as hot as Gulf was for an entire game.

It looked like we were going to let them do it again. We just kept working. We did the little things we didn't do last time.
