The kids are working very hard as a group. They just want to go play football and win. They don't care who plays where or who's starting. They are mixing actually better than the guys we had last year. We're really jelling, and the seniors are showing a lot better leadership than we expected.

We held them off, but we've got to quit making them so close.

Olson runs very hard and Cheers is not very big, but he can pop things off quick. If he finds a hole, he'll dart through it. But the key to any football game is the line. If they do a good job, we'll be in good shape.

We had them wore down pretty good in the first half, but they got some big plays and the momentum just swung.

The one thing I was concerned about (going in) was our conditioning, and that showed up in the second quarter. We gutted out the third quarter and got a couple scores. The line has got to block better and we've just got to get better conditioned so we can focus better in the next game.

We'll see if we can get a little spark going.

(This year's) senior group of 10, even the ones that didn't start, would've played or started on a lot of other teams.

They've done everything we've asked of them. They're both stepping up. They're both very experienced now, so whatever we tell them to do, they're doing it.

It has worked out good. Steven feels good at receiver and he's catching the ball well, so we'll leave it this way and go from here.
