Basically I'm from the old school. We try to score one run an inning in any fashion. A lot of times that gets you started. They got a good pitcher. He usually doesn't give up a lot of runs. ... We try to move the baseball and make them make plays. A lot of times moving that runner will get you started.

You must give Campbell credit. When we had runners in scoring position, they either made plays or their pitchers came up with strikeouts.

When you have a chance to make plays and don't, you can almost be assured the final score will not favor your team.

Our defense has been real inconsistent. We've got five weeks to fix it. Hopefully by district tournament time we'll have it fixed. We know that's the weak part of our game right now. Pitching is the strong point of our game. We can score a few runs, but defense is our weakness and we're working on it.
