"Alain Marie Pascal Prost", Order of the British Empire/OBE, Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur is a French People/French racing driver. A four-time Formula One Drivers' Champion, only Sebastian Vettel (four championships), Juan Manuel Fangio (five championships), and Michael Schumacher (seven championships) have equalled or surpassed his number of titles. From 1987 until 2001 Prost held the record for most History of Formula One/Grand Prix victories. Schumacher surpassed Prost's total of 51 victories at the 2001 Belgian Grand Prix. In 1999, Prost received the World Sports Awards of the Century in the motor sport category.

Prost discovered kart racing/karting at the age of 14 during a family holiday. He progressed through motor sport's junior ranks, winning the French and European Formula Three championships, before joining the McLaren Formula One team in 1980 Formula One season/1980 at the age of 24. He finished in the points on his 1980 Argentine Grand Prix/Formula One début in Autódromo Juan y Oscar Gálvez/Argentina and took his first race victory at his home Grand Prix in 1981 French Grand Prix/France a year later, driving for the factory Renault F1/Renault team.

When I drove for British teams... they called me The Tadpole because I was too small to be a frog.

For him it is just the beginning. He has his whole career still ahead and (winning the title so early) will make him stronger.

I rely on Prost to negotiate the first corner and the rest of it.

The real problem is that it (F1) is in a permanent state of conflict.

Three times before 1985, I just missed the title, so winning was a relief.
