"Alfred Oerter, Jr." was an United States/American athletics (sport)/athlete, and a four-time Olympic Games/Olympic Champion in the discus throw.

Oerter was the first athlete to win a gold medal in the same individual event in four consecutive Olympics—a feat only matched by Carl Lewis in the long jump.

In 2005, he was inducted into the Nassau County Sports Hall of Fame.
