He's probably come on a little fast, ... That probably was the pleasant surprise of it.

We've talked for two weeks about the fumble situation and we weren't happy about it.

I reminded him of what we said at halftime last week: 'We're going to ride you. Let's go.' .

He doesn't panic. He took control [at safety] in the early minutes of the first day we tried him there. He knew the calls and was very confident in them. He'd heard them for two years.

It's not for sure, but I'd say it's probably moving in that direction, ... Some of it's moving in that direction; some of it's not going as fast. There's no sense speculating. Who we talk about now might not be there Saturday; who's not in the mix right now might be there Saturday.

It gave us consistent difficulty, ... and really brought [Syracuse] back into the game. Obviously, we'd like to play those plays better.

What happened last game was, Mike forgot about the ball. He was interesting in running the play and wasn't telling himself, 'Hey, I've got the ball.' .

I don't know and I don't think about it.

We tried to emphasize with him and the team that things aren't going to go perfect.
