That was a very difficult play. For one or two innings I had to realize that it was raining, that the grass was wet, and that when you have synthetic turf wet it is difficult to catch a ball and grasp it very well. I threw it home and I had to do it at full blast, not just an easy throw, a weak throw, but I had to do it full blast, and it worked out well.

You feel a little pressure. But we are prepared. We're not worried.

That was the play of the game. It was raining, the grass was wet, and when you have wet synthetic turf it is difficult to catch a ball and grasp it very well. I threw it home as hard as I could, because a soft throw wouldn't work, and it worked out well.

This was our first game, the one that gave us butterflies and we are happy that we were able to break the ice with a victory.

I'm very happy. With so many foreign broadcast journalists watching, it was a good opportunity to see that Cuban baseball players play well anywhere in the world and at any level.

We've seen the quality of these other players. I think they play with other objectives in mind than we do. One thing that separates us from them is the unity we have on our team.

Our baseball is not for-rent baseball. Our team plays for the love of the game, for the love of the uniform we wear. We play for the love we have for our country.

All we wanted to do was to show the quality of Cuban baseball.
