"Sir Henri Charles Wilfrid Laurier", Order of St. Michael and St. George/GCMG, Queen's Privy Council for Canada/PC, King's Counsel/KC,, known as "Wilfrid Laurier" (; ), was the List of Prime Ministers of Canada/seventh Prime Minister of Canada from 11 July 1896 to 6 October 1911.

Canada's first francophone prime minister, Laurier is often considered one of the country's greatest politician/statesmen. He is well known for his policies of conciliation, expanding Confederation, and compromise between French Canada/French and English Canada/English Canada. His vision for Canada was a land of individual liberty and decentralized federalism. He also argued for an English-French partnership in Canada. "I have had before me as a pillar of fire," he said, "a policy of true Canadianism, of moderation, of wiktionary:reconciliation/reconciliation." And he passionately defended individual liberty, "Canada is free and freedom is its nationality," and "Nothing will prevent me from continuing my task of preserving at all cost our civil liberty." Laurier was also well-regarded for his efforts to establish Canada as an autonomous country within the British Empire, and he supported the continuation of the Empire if it was based on "absolute liberty political and commercial".

Two races share today the soil of Canada … These people had not always been friends. But I hasten to say it … There is no longer any family here but the human family. It matters not the language people speak, or the altars at which they kneel.

Let them look to the past, but let them also look to the future; let them look to the land of their ancestors, but let them look also to the land of their children.

I don't think the girls will have any problem keeping their motivation and focus, ... You always want to finish as high as possible in any tournament, whether it is on the medal side or for placement.
