New York City is a notoriously hard market to perform country music in.

I only record songs that I really like and believe in and can sing with conviction.

I know there are a lot of country music fans in New York City but the problem with doing a show in New York City is its very difficult to promote.

I have always loved Waffle House. It's been like an oasis in the desert many times late at night after one of my concerts.

If you look at it as trying to broaden the appeal and kind of get out of the box and maybe reach some people who otherwise don't become exposed to country music, it could turn out to be a really good thing.

I don't do the same show on any two nights.

Shoot, we go through hundreds of songs to find 12, ... It's like that on every album that I do.

It's great to be able to get up there now and do an hour or 75 minutes of songs they're familiar with.

It was never intended to make anyone feel uneasy; that was the last thing in the world that I would want to happen.
