We jumped out early. We went to a faster lineup and it allowed us to score in transition against them. We pushed the tempo of the game and the girls really played well, especially on the road.

We played an outstanding first half. But I think we started to get nervous a bit in the second half. Our shots were falling short. I told the girls the game is like a roller-coaster. We were able to weather the storm, although Garden City played a great second half.

It's a place to shop, eat and gossip.

With about two minutes left in the game, Johnson County started fouling us. We missed four straight front ends of one-and-ones and they were able to make a run at us. Debbie hit two free throws toward the end to give us the win.

The first time we played them, we were on our heels. We wanted to be more physical this time, show weren't going to be pushed around. That worked, but we just couldn't get over the hump.

We played good team defense and took them totally out of their offensive flow. We played with a lot of intensity and worked hard even though we didn't shoot the ball very well.

It's one of those deals where we're trying to build a tradition here. The girls are learning how to win.

We knew they liked to penetrate and dish off to the open shooter so we focused on stopping that. We defended them very well in the first half.

The girls kept their composure and we put some defensive pressure on them at half-court.
