I think we are really going to hit the ball a lot. We might even be a better hitting team than last year, overall.

We lost nine seniors, virtually every starting player. Right now, our strength is our offense - we're a pretty good-hitting team. There's some depth in the pitching, although the staff is real inexperienced. Our nemesis is our defense. That's where we really need to improve.

He was just nibbling on the outside corner with the curve and it was just really tough for them to handle. He pitched ahead in the count most of the day, which aided him greatly.

He's good on the double-play. And, offensively, he can drive the ball to the gaps.

As for the rest of the year, of course I hope we'll keep hitting then ball and the pitching matures. And of course, we want to improve that defense.
