It was a great game -- we did a lot of things really well and I was pleased with the effort. Unfortunately they have a few more basketball players than we do. We have more athletes, but their players did some things for them down the stretch to help the get the win.
We played pretty well. I was happy with the way we came out defensively and set the tempo early on -- that's what we need to do.
I was really happy with the balance on offense. Danielle got her points early and Emily did a great job on the boards. All her points came off of offensive rebounds.
It was her best game offensively all year. She did a great job establishing herself inside and was getting to the free-throw line.
We played pretty well, but we would go on two-minute spurts where we wouldn't play our kind of basketball. It was a good ball game. They went on a 12-5 run in the fourth quarter and that was the difference. I thought we played well enough to win for three quarters.
We played really well. We were down in numbers because it was Russian Christmas, so we had to rely on our defense and not make mistakes and all-in-all it was one of our better games.
We got down by 15 at the beginning of the fourth and got it to six. We had our opportunities, we just weren't able to do anything with those opportunities. We need to play 32 solid minutes and right now we are playing about 28 and you can't do that against good teams.
We did a great job of controlling the tempo in the fourth quarter, which is what we wanted to do and take as much time off the clock.
