He was doing what he loved, living his life the best he knew how. Someone put it best - every day's a Kai Puckett day.

We were traversing across a snow field and he was ahead of me and then the avalanche broke above him, and just took him away and, you know, you're always running against the clock in a situation like this and I tried to do my best. I found him and he was still alive, eventually the doctor got there and it was out of my hands at that point.

Unfortunately sometimes you're in the wrong place at the wrong time.

He's very tied up with the ship.

We're asking people for their patience.

Wherever he is, the snow is the best snow he's ever had and every day he wakes up he's living the dream again, just like he did every day on earth.
