That was a brilliant shot. He pulled up and blasted it. I want more of that from our guys. We've got to test the keeper from outside.

We had some really nice chances, some from way out. I knew if we got up two goals we wouldn't let the lead go. But as long as it was one goal, sometime West Carteret would go on the attack with confidence.

He is the ultimate team player. He sacrificed the glory for the betterment of the team. Wherever we needed him, he played.

He played very, very consistently in goal, and at many times during the year, if the teams got good shots off, he was there to make good saves.

When it came to crunch time, he was there for us. He was a very calming influence for us. We knew if one of our defenders got beat, Shep was back there.

We don't have one true superstar. I think it's going to be a team effort to score and a team effort to defend. We're not bringing in the all-state player.

Just a warrior and he didn't stop battling all year long.

If he was 20 pounds heavier he probably would've been all-state. He's probably our most complete soccer player. He knows the game very well.

He's very special offensively. I'm looking forward to having him back next year.
