We took a shot at him when no one else was interested. Our development people did an outstanding job getting him ready. He's going to be an excellent player.

It's not like he doesn't know what to do. He has his own restaurant in Cherokee, where he got a 96.

We had to stop doing what we were doing in the middle of the job because it looked like we might be forced out by eminent domain. Now that it looks like we're going to be here for a while, we don't mind spending the money.

It was more of a detail thing than a filthy store.

It was a matter of us having managers in charge that let little things go and not paying attention. You can have little things that actually have very little bearing on the public's health, but flat tear you up on a health inspection.

But I'm proud that we were able to send Rick Honeycutt and Mariano Duncan up there, because they both did good jobs. The other guys on the Minor League staff see that you can get to the big leagues. These two guys sure are deserving of it.

I think he'll do fine. He was a shortstop out of high school, so he knows about playing middle infield. He's got good feet and a strong arm, but his bat is going to carry him no matter what position he's at.
