"Theodore" ""Ted"" "Strickland" is an American politician from the state of Ohio. Strickland served as the List of Governors of Ohio/68th Governor of Ohio, from 2007 to 2011. A member of the Democratic Party (United States)/Democratic Party, he previously served in the United States House of Representatives, representing (1993–1995, 1997–2007).

In the Ohio gubernatorial election, 2006/2006 gubernatorial election, Strickland was elected to succeed term-limited Republican Party (United States)/Republican incumbent Bob Taft after defeating Ohio Secretary of State Ken Blackwell, receiving 60% of the vote. However, he was narrowly defeated (with less than 47% of the vote) for re-election in the Ohio gubernatorial election, 2010/2010 gubernatorial election by former U.S. Representative John Kasich.
