"Steven Mark "Steve" Lonegan" is an American businessman, author and former Mayor of Bogota, New Jersey, serving from 1995 to 2007. A member of the Republican Party (United States)/Republican Party, Lonegan was the State Director of the New Jersey chapter of Americans for Prosperity and a candidate for the Republican nomination for Governor of New Jersey in 2005 and 2009. He was the Republican Party's nominee in the October 2013 United States Senate special election in New Jersey, 2013/special election to fill New Jersey's open U.S. Senate seat following the death of Frank Lautenberg as well as a Republican Party primary candidate in 2014 for the New Jersey's 3rd congressional district/3rd congressional district seat in New Jersey.
