Our guys swung the bats really well today and came ready to play. We we able to take advantage of their mistakes. Our pitching looked outstanding both games.

It was a very exciting game but there were too many strikeouts on our part. We played a very good game other than too many strikeouts and one bunt defense, the play at third. You have to give Auburn credit. They were a team below .500 and they wanted this game tonight.

Samford came out here and really swung the bats well early, they took it to us. I was proud of our guys for the well they handled the adversity. We didn't play well. We had some errors early and it was kind of ugly. But we didn't panic; we swung the bats and made some things happen.

He (Gonzalez) wants to be a starter. That's where he feels he can help the club most. But he told me to use him how we wanted and that he'd be ready.

I thought we played a very good game except for there being too many strikeouts and the bunt defense at third. That ended up being the run that hurt us. Eric tried to guide it over to third and we had the lead runner.

We've just got to take one game at a time from here on out and try to win as many as we can and hope somebody helps us out against Troy. It's going to be an exciting Sun Belt race.

P.J. set the tempo early. We scrapped, clawed, stole a few bases and got clutch hits when we needed them.

I think our guys gave it everything they had. It was disappointing, when we look back on it, we're going to say we should have won that one. Were not going to give up on this ball club and I hope the fans won't either.
