"Stephen Robert "Steve" Jenkins" is a Wales national football team/Wales international association football/footballer. A Defender (association football)/full-back, he won 16 Welsh caps between 1995 and 2001.

After a seven-year spell at Huddersfield Town, in which he became not only the captain but a well established fans' favourite, Jenkins signed for Swindon Town F.C./Swindon Town in 2005, but after Swindon's relegation to Football League Two/League Two and the appointment of Dennis Wise as manager, Jenkins' offer of a new deal at the County Ground, Swindon/County Ground was withdrawn and he was released. He spent three years playing for and latterly coaching Newport County A.F.C./Newport County, before joining Llanelli A.F.C./Llanelli as player/assistant manager to Andy Legg in May 2009.

In June 2013 Jenkins was appointed manager of Monmouth Town F.C./Monmouth Town.

On 20 March 2014 Jenkins was appointed Assistant Manager to Peter Beadle at Hereford United F.C./Hereford United. Hereford ended the 2013–14 Football Conference/2013–14 season in 20th place, finishing above the relegation zone on goal difference after beating Aldershot Town F.C./Aldershot Town on the final day of the season.

On 23 May 2014, Jenkins was appointed as manager of his home town club Merthyr Town F.C./Merthyr Town.

Ryan's playing like we expected him to for three years.

We missed enough (free throws) that they were always on the edge (of coming back). We can't do that against Huntington.

They just make you play a ragged game. They are extremely well-coached and they always have a good defense. I'm pleased to put up 82 points on them, and I thought we were outstanding defensively.

In my opinion, Huntington is the best team here. They don't have any weaknesses. But I think they have a tough draw, too.

Ryan is very unselfish, and he's a great motion player because he understands how to play without the ball. Too often, he's been content to do that and not take over the reins, but he's doing it now and it's made all the difference for our team.

We didn't finish the game like a veteran team. But for the most part, we played like we did at the (Heart of America Athletic Conference) Tournament.

We needed some help and we got it. It's like we have three (HAAC) championship games this week.

They never quit, they just keep coming. Physically, they're a handful.

He's come to the realization that he has to be more assertive. ... In the past he's had a tendency to disappear on offense at times. He's a great shooter, and for him to shoot (only) three or four times in a game is a sin.
