It's not a pleasant thing, to see a young person's life snuffed out. Driving the van, I see a lot of people - a lot of people that I know sometimes - and you realize how many different families this affects.

People in Mississippi are living in tents as we speak. There's an estimated 5,000 families waiting to move into trailers and the weather is starting to get colder there as well. People not affected by Katrina and Rita may not think about it any more, but these people still need loads of help. Money needs to keep coming.

I'll never forget that three nurses who cared for him from the cancer clinic traveled all the way to Campbell River to be at the funeral service. He had a lot of wonderful friends.

The looting was part of the ugliness of Katrina and Rita.
