The freshmen played great. They soaked up everything around them and took time to evaluate the other team. They played with a lot of swagger and hunger.

They just happened to get one more run than we did. I was happy with the effort.

Our chemistry is awesome, the best in my four years here. We all got to be on the same page. It's great to see people pulling for each other on the bench.

It's a great thing to get a run in the first, you can do more when you're ahead. You can be more aggressive and take more risks.

We could have put Austin away with one or two more runs. They were down and dead.

It's a tough weekend. You need some breaks to beat some of the bigger teams. We need day-to-day consistency to keep ourselves in games in the sixth and seventh innings and get some big plays. We are going to grow a lot in a week.

We're excited. We had a good practice out there yesterday in the field and it will be good to be home so we can start to find out our routine. We've had some pretty good success here on our home field, so we're looking forward to playing and opening it up.

The coaches were aware, but it was one of those things where you don't say a word about it. A huge groan came out of the dugout when she gave up that hit.

We've felt good and the past two games we haven't made any errors. We got some pitching and some timely hitting. We really manufactured some runs and played more of our game, so I think we've turned the corner here. We're pretty excited to get back into things right now.
