I'm confident our players would earn and create goodwill.

We have decided to make a joint bid for Asia.

We will play the matches at a neutral venue in April this year and 75 percent of the proceeds will go to earthquake victims of Pakistan and the rest to the people affected in India.

We have discussed this matter jointly and we feel that given the massive following for the game in South Asia it is apt we bid jointly for the World Cup.

I have spoken to the cricket board presidents of the other Test nations from Asia (Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh) and have reached an understanding.

The four Test nations from Asia have reached an understanding and a written bid will be made in the next few days.

The Asia Cup, which was to be held next month in Pakistan was postponed and it has now been decided that it will be staged in Pakistan in September 2007.
