We thought we'd have more support than we did. Basically, they didn't want to have anything to do with us. They gave us no support, they gave our families no support, and it was hard for our families, not knowing who to turn to. So it was basically our lawyers and people like Amnesty that gave support to our families and helped them get through it.

It was a very hard time for us to go through.

We had it rough, but we didn't have it as bad as others, for example the Arabs. Because we could speak English and communicate with people, I think it made it a lot easier for us.
