It takes money to do things. We have enough flexibility in the plan to do something about U.S. 58.

People take you out to dinner. It's just a normal practice down here, but I have made it a point to avoid doing such a thing.

We were able to work together and accomplish a whole lot. It's a textbook example of a joint effort between members of both parties in the legislative and executive branch coming together to help a region.

U.S. 58 is certainly a priority for us.

I don't think we ever envisioned transportation being solely a budgetary item.

Hopefully, we can put something in that's long term so they don't have to keep coming back. It just needs to be done and this is the year to do it.

The trick is to find a dependable source of revenue for transportation. If not, you get education competing with transportation and that just doesn't work.
