It was really cool. You get to know better some of the other competitors (on the U.S. Olympic team). It was kind of cool talking shop with those guys about their sport.

The focus is on Austria. Those guys always step it up, and there are so many of them, and it seems every year there's a new guy. We're starting to do that, and when we come in and steal a podium, the Austrians don't like it.

I'd rather get it out of the way tomorrow and be able to relax on Saturday. I was a little nervous because I had never raced the course before.

Today was one of those days, and this is definitely good for my confidence.

It's more a race than a training day.

I think Marco made a pretty big mistake on top and I made some mistakes on the bottom, so I knew it was going to be real tight. I had the opportunity to shut the door if I had a clean run, and I didn't do that.

Todd Hayes, the bobsled driver. We were on the bus with his four-man crew. They were hilarious. They were really a good time.

It's a great day, especially with Bode skiing out. Ted stepped up.

I am psyched. At the same time, I'm kind of bummed for Marco, because he doesn't have another event to ski.
