We are thinking about going to Mars. Everyone that's working on this is thinking about going to Mars. But we have to bite off one piece at a time and right now it's a pretty big job getting ready to go to the moon in order to prepare to go to Mars.

Thinking about the politics…the timing…we need to fly this thing soon. If we want to fly something before this Presidential term is out, we have about two years to build this. Actually, we're starting to get schedule crunched.

The first step to Mars and beyond is getting back to the Moon.

Sounds like a great day to come on home.

The goal is four people at up to 7 days a shot.

This signifies a new era in space transportation with a greater role for commercial space providers. We look forward to being able to purchase services for routine access to space, as NASA explores the moon, Mars, and beyond.

If we can determine there's water somewhere, that's a big deal. That has huge impacts on what we do for our architecture for exploration in the future.

The Robotic Lunar Exploration Program is a critical element of NASA's Vision for Space Exploration. Data collected will help determine where we go, and what we find during our first human missions to the lunar surface.

Offering these prizes allows us to engage a lot of people we may not otherwise reach to solve technical problems that will help enable us to achieve the Vision for Space Exploration.
