We had a great preseason. The guys responded with what coach (George Karl) wanted early on in pace of the game, togetherness and defensive intensity. We've improved in those areas with a couple of setbacks, but we've improved each game.

I wanted to win it for them more than I wanted to win a championship. It was sad losing them, but the least we could do was win for them.

There's a reason the Spurs are the defending champions. They really execute down the stretch. They just don't make many errors, and if you do, they really punish you.

It's a big loss. He is a big part of our team. You hate to have any of your players hurt, whether it is one game or 80 games. You hate it if it's your best player or your 12th man.

George is one of the toughest guys I've ever been around. He has that tough look, but mentally he's as tough as they get. To have him go through what he had to deal with last year ... it's probably worse now with his son.
