We want the new cabinet to succeed. But this requires an understanding on many issues, especially the nature of the Palestinian political system and the role of the president of the Palestinian Authority, who is also the chairman of the executive committee of the PLO.

Quite frankly, it didn't look to me that what was going to emerge was something that would be adequate to deal with the challenges that we face.

But there is no doubt that the Palestinian Authority is going through a suffocating financial crisis. There is a lack of foreign aid, and it will be difficult to continue in this way, so we need to reorganize.
