Whatever position you're in you have to prepare like you're going to start because A.J. and I are the insurance policies for this football team. [There's] a lot of trust the coaches have in us to play like we're the starters if for some reason Gus went down.

It's a very competitive league as far as quarterbacks positions.

I proved to myself more than anything that I could play in this league.

We have full confidence in Gus that he's going to do a great job.

I'm the insurance policy. Gus Frerotte is the starting quarterback. We have a lot of faith in him. He's going to win a lot of games for us -- period.

We have full confidence in Gus that he's going to do a great job. Gus is a smart guy. He works really hard. He knows the offense inside and out. And he has seen every defense known to man over the 12 years of his career.

We've got Denver coming up, ... I'm preparing like I'm a starter. That's what you have to do whether you're a starter or a backup.

We'll take as many good running backs as we can get. Obviously he's got some exceptional abilities.

You don't prepare any different.
