We've lost all of our workers. They're afraid to come in now, and they don't want to work. I still think we can finish the process, probably with each of the leading candidates looking at each ballot and making a decision we can all live with.

This election has to be like a lighthouse for the future of the country. Most of the past elections have been fraudulent. That is why the economy and society is in shambles today. This needs to be a new starting point.

If there is one threat to the holding of elections as scheduled, it is the security situation.

Don't let politicians manipulate you to make disorder. The final results will come.

I cannot answer to those problems but we are going to set up a commission to investigate the problem.

The goal from the first was to create a reliable identity card for the first time in this country's history. How can you run elections if you can't even identify most of your electorate? We had a situation in the past where people would go to a government office and get four, five, six identity documents under different names.

The people and the candidates want to have the elections and we are ready.

If you include all the fraudulent documents, about 80 percent of Haitians have no reliable identity documents at all.

The CEP was not handling the ballots.
