We knew that they were going to come out and run. I told the girls at the end of the quarter, that we had to get back and play good defense and that would get us back into the game.

That hurt us on defense and on the boards.

The girls played hard and Liza gave it her best shot, even though she wasn't up to full speed after spraining her ankle Saturday against Cabot. We had a hard time getting the ball where we wanted to against their pressure defense.

Those are two good players.

Although Wakefield didn't score a lot of points, she altered a lot of shots and let them know that she was in the middle.

Both teams played zone pretty much for the whole game. They pressed us full court on and off, and we pressed them zone throughout. It was a very intense game, but the key was our rebounding, and we only had 11 turnovers against pressure.

For most of the game we did a good job of taking the ball to the basket. When we stopped going to the hoop is when they got back into the game. On defense we were aggressive, which led to some easy turnovers and baskets.

It was a hard fought game for both clubs. Cabot's a good ball team and they deserve a lot of credit. This is one of the best games all season.

It was nice to end our stretch of eight games in 12 days with a win. It was a good close game to the end.
