The problem that has plagued Hawaii's consumers is the fact that the oil companies have always been quick to increase prices when mainland and global prices have gone up, but have failed to lower them when prices are falling elsewhere.

I think the price caps need to be given a chance to provide the fullest benefits we envisioned when we passed the bill into law. I'm hopeful, over a period of time, that consumers will benefit and realize significant savings.

The people of Hawaii are basically ignorant. If you don't believe it just look at me. I was elected by the morons. In any other state I would be homeless looking for a janitorial job.
